Chapter 17 | Śhraddhā Traya Vibhāg Yog| Verse 05
अशास्त्रविहितं घोरं तप्यन्ते ये तपो जना: ।
दम्भाहङ्कारसंयुक्ता: कामरागबलान्विता:
aśhāstra-vihitaṁ ghoraṁ tapyante ye tapo janāḥ
dambhāhankāra-sanyuktāḥ kāma-rāga-balānvitāḥ
અશાસ્ત્રવિહિતં ઘોરં તપ્યન્તે યે તપો જનાઃ ।
દંભાહંકારસંયુક્તાઃ કામરાગબલાન્વિતાઃ
MEANING
The Blessed Lord said:
“Those people who perform severe austerities that are not prescribed by the scriptures, being filled with hypocrisy, pride, and ego, and driven by desire, attachment, and the force of passion, engage in such harsh practices.”
भगवान श्रीकृष्ण कहते हैं:
“जो लोग शास्त्रों में बताए गए नियमों के विरुद्ध कठोर तप करते हैं, और जो दंभ, अहंकार, कामना, आसक्ति तथा बल के अभिमान से युक्त होते हैं, वे ऐसे भयंकर तप का आचरण करते हैं।”
ભગવાન શ્રીકૃષ્ણ કહે છે:
“જે લોકો શાસ્ત્રોમાં જણાવ્યા મુજબ ન હોય તેવું ભયંકર તપ કરે છે અને દંભ, અહંકાર, કામના, આસક્તિ તથા પોતાના બળના અભિમાનથી ભરેલા હોય છે, તેઓ આવું કઠોર તપ આચરે
