Chapter 2 |Sānkhya Yog | Verse 19

य एनं वेत्ति हन्तारं यश्चैनं मन्यते हतम् ।
उभौ तौ न विजानीतो नायं हन्ति न हन्यते

ya enaṁ vetti hantāraṁ yaśh chainaṁ manyate hatam
ubhau tau na vijānīto nāyaṁ hanti na hanyate

ય એનં વેत्ति હંતારં યશ્ચૈનં મન્યતે હતમ્ ।
ઉભૌ તૌ ન વિજાનીતો નાયં હન્તિ ન હન્યતે

MEANING

He who thinks that the Self (Ātman) kills, and he who thinks that the Self is killed—both of them do not truly understand. The Self neither kills nor can it be killed.

जो इस आत्मा को मारने वाला समझता है और जो इसे मरा हुआ मानता है, वे दोनों ही वास्तव में नहीं जानते। आत्मा न किसी को मारती है और न ही किसी के द्वारा मारी जाती है।

જે વ્યક્તિ આત્માને મારનાર માને છે અને જે આત્માને મરેલો માને છે, તે બંને સાચું જાણતા નથી. આત્મા ન તો કોઈને મારે છે અને ન તો કોઈ દ્વારા મારવામાં આવે છે.
